A Chef’s Kitchen in Overland Park

The operational center of this home, the kitchen, laundry room, and powder room, were transformed to significantly enhance its functionality. We started with the kitchen, where we reimagined the layout to accommodate multiple cooks and create a welcoming gathering place for the family. A dual-fuel range with double ovens replaced the cooktop, creating a more spacious island for prep work and casual dining. The pot filler – a must-have for any chef’s kitchen – was seamlessly built into the range’s backsplash. We added a microwave drawer, relocated the refrigerator for better workflow, and engineered special nooks in the wall for both a toaster and pizza oven. The former kitchen desk/drop zone has been tucked out of sight in the laundry room. We optimized every inch of the space to ensure that everything has its place and the counters remain clutter-free. It’s a true chef’s kitchen for any culinary enthusiast.

Behind the scenes, additional attic insulation, upgraded HVAC and ventilation, and the repaired wood rot from a hidden leaky window create a more comfortable and healthier space. Raised headers bring natural light to the back hallway and hearth room.

Unique design elements make this chef’s kitchen truly exceptional. The custom range hood is wrapped in a stunning quartzite, while the custom cabinets feature polished nickel hardware and black metal mullions — every detail has been carefully considered to reflect the homeowner’s style.

The formerly cramped laundry and lackluster powder room are now highly functional spaces with just enough sparkle and personality to be as remarkable as the chef’s kitchen.
